Established in 2017, ILERA INITIATIVE Ltd (ILERA-I) began as a bold collaboration among young professionals united by a mission to transform community-based healthcare. From grassroots beginnings, we’ve grown into a dynamic organization where innovation, compassion, and equity shape every solution. Our programs encompass connected diagnostic tools, medical assessment camps, mental health screenings, and school health outreach each tailored to address real-world challenges and designed for accessibility and scalability.
As ILERA-I expands, we’re investing in digital infrastructure, strategic partnerships, and youth-led innovation to deepen our impact. We co-design solutions with ministries, schools, and communities, integrating data-driven platforms and culturally responsive approaches. With each deployment, we strengthen systems, build local capacity, and advance our vision of equitable, tech-enabled healthcare for all.
Driven by the diverse health needs and latent potential of underserved communities, we are reimagining healthcare delivery through rigorously validated, evidence-based interventions. Our solutions integrate certified clinical protocols with interoperable digital platforms, leveraging real-time data analytics, AI-powered decision support, and user-centered design. Each innovation is field-tested, market-adapted, and built for scale, seamlessly aligning with existing health systems, financing structures, and policy frameworks. This systems-aware approach ensures measurable health outcomes, operational efficiency, and sustainable transformation across diverse geographies and care models.

The founding members formalized their vision by incorporating ILERA INITIATIVE LTD under the Ugandan Bureau of Companies. A key move in partnerships and implementation.Â
The Student Health Information Management System (SHIMS) concept was developed in response to the critical need to strengthen healthcare service delivery within school environments.
ILERA-I moved to a new office location. This transition marks a new chapter in our journey, providing an environment that better supports teamwork, innovation, and the impactful work we do every day.
ILERA-I partnered with Dijito-Tech Labs, a leading software development company; Explore Career Experts Ltd, a renowned student career guidance organization; and COPI Ltd, both well-established organizations.Â
ILERA-I partnered with Mpigi, Luwero, and Wakiso districts to pilot the SHIMS platform as a decentralized school health system. With Built-in data governance, enabling district oversight.
