The On-School Medical Assessment Camp held in August 2025 at Peace Modern Primary School in Mpigi District was a collaborative effort aimed at promoting early detection and preventive care among school-aged children. With the support of specialized medical professionals, including ophthalmologists, dentists, nurses, and laboratory technicians, pupils underwent comprehensive screenings covering vision, dental health, blood grouping, urinalysis, and vital measurements. In addition, the team documented allergies and chronic illnesses, ensuring that each child’s health profile was accurately captured. This hands-on approach brought essential medical services directly to the school environment, bridging gaps in access and reinforcing the importance of routine health monitoring.
Beyond the clinical assessments, the camp underscored the crucial role of school-based health initiatives in promoting student well-being. By creating a familiar and accessible setting for medical evaluation, the activity reduced barriers to care and encouraged open dialogue around health concerns. The presence of expert practitioners not only ensured the delivery of quality service but also built trust among pupils, parents, and educators. The outcomes of the camp made it abundantly clear: on-school medical assessments are not just beneficial, they are necessary for fostering healthier learning communities and supporting the holistic development of every child.
We harness technology to advance innovative, community-driven management of healthcare service delivery.
